Scout Day at the 'K'
Our crew traveled to Kansas City on April 10th to watch the KC Royals play the Minnesota Twins. It was a close game with KC tying the score in the bottom of the 9th. The Royals kept the Twins from scoring any runs in the 10th inning while scoring a run themselves and winning the game 4 to 3.
Wilderness Survival Campout
On April 1st to the 3rd, we camped with Troop 5 at Ottawa State Fishing Lake for a Wilderness Survival Campout. Everything we needed for an overnight campout, including food and shelter, was carried in our backpacks as we hiked about 2 miles to our campsite. Each Scout was required to plan, provide, and cook 3 meals for themselves (Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, Saturday lunch). They started camp fires for cooking using flint and steel; built tarp shelters to sleep in for 2 nights; went fishing, hiking, and just had fun.
